On Tuesday, Brad and I had a little date! It was a two-part date, with part two being public access test prep. That will be covered in tomorrow’s blog entry.

For the first part of our date, we were excited to try a new restaurant in Rock Hill called Everbowl. It serves fruit bowls. These are bowls that have coconut milk ice cream or sorbet as a base, and are topped with fruits, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, nut butters, etc. We’ve had this sort of thing in other cities before and LOVED it! It’s super healthy and very tasty.

We drove up to Everbowl, but it looked like all the parking places around it were garages or places that charged money. We didn’t want to pay, so we drove around a while until we found a public lot next to a water tower. Later on we found out that the pay parking places are free Monday through Thursday. But we didn’t know that when we were trying to park!

The water tower was very tall! Brad got some pictures of Felix and me in front of the water tower. It was hard to get us and the whole water tower in the same shot! I am wearing a new dress that has green grass and pink and yellow flowers on it. Felix is wearing a lavender vest.

It was about a five-minute roll to Everbowl from where we parked. The route passed by a cool old cemetery. Brad got some pictures in front of the cemetery gates, and several of Felix walking along next to me. Felix was full of energy, so I was able to turn my chair up to 4 and he trotted the whole way in perfect heel. He was very happy!

Everbowl is right in front of the Rock Hill sports complex. There was a building with lots of really cool angular features on it at the sports complex, so Brad had to get a picture of us there. Then Felix had to poop due to all the walking, and of course Brad had to snap a photo LOL!

When we got to Everbowl, I got out my phone so I could order on the app (always easier than talking with someone to place an order!!!), and Felix was so good and just hanging out next to me on the ground.

We went in to pick up our food, and the woman working there was really nice. She’s the one who told us that parking is free Monday through Thursday. It was a nice restaurant inside, and Felix did so well hanging out next to me while we chatted and the woman made our orders. Brad got three pictures of us inside the restaurant.

We took our food outdoors to the table outside to eat it. Brad got some pictures of our colorful bowls topped with fruit, and I got a few pictures of Brad in his red and white striped blazer with turquoise tie and scarf.

The bowls were super yummy!!! We really enjoyed eating them, and we hope to be able to go back sometime soon. It’s really nice to go to a restaurant where Brad can eat almost everything on the menu!

It was a beautiful sunny day, and across the street from Everbowl there was a small park area with interestingly shaped wooden bench structures where the bench continued up the sides and around the top of a squarish structure. They also had some old mechanical wheels and things from the industries that used to be in that location. Brad got several interesting pictures of Felix and me on and around these structures.

On our way back to the car, we stopped by the sports complex again. We got a few pictures of me in front of the Rock Hill sign, and Brad in front of the angular building from before.

Finally we headed back to the car. Brad got a couple pictures of Felix and me walking, one of the cemetery sign, and one of me getting ready to load my wheelchair into the back of the van.

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s blog entry where we visit TJ Maxx and do a run-through of most of the items on the public access test Felix will be taking soon.
