Glamour headshots gone sideways: Brad

This Saturday, we set up a beige backdrop that is designed for professional or glamour headshots and took some pictures. The theme for the shoot was glamour shots gone sideways. Brad used a dark orange light against the backdrop, a flash facing down from above, and a curved reflector to get the flash light onto the bottom of our faces.

I will have four blog entries of this photo shoot, and today is all about Brad! He used his remote control to take pictures of himself.

In this first set of 14 photos, Brad starts out looking fairly typical for a man wearing a teal shirt, blue shiny paisley blazer, and shiny paisley teal bowtie. He is smiling like a normal person as he gets the picture settings dialed in. He adjusts his bowtie and looks serious. Then the fun begins! He puffs out his cheeks, looks shocked, then excited, sticks his tongue out, grins wildly, and points at things with his finger!

Then he shifts to black and white photos for the next 16 pictures. Again he starts off looking fairly typical, but then starts grimacing, smiling oddly, looking distraught, looking sad, and looking angry.

In the last set of Brad photos, he brings Alice into the pictures! For those who don’t know, Alice is Brad’s dog 100%. His lap is almost always where she can be found, and if there’s any choice to be made about who to be close to, she always chooses Brad. So he picked her up and held her next to his face.

Half of these six photos are in color, and half are in black and white. Brad does a good job of looking where Alice is looking. If she looks off to the side, so does he. If she looks at the camera, so does he.

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s blog entry which will be all about Veronica! Then we’ll have two more that are all about the dogs.
