We are all home!   Recently updated!

Yesterday was the most wonderful day! Cousin Tamara got to go home! Finally all the red tape got sorted with insurance and home health.

We couldn’t have done it without one very special case manager. I meant to get her name but I forgot. She was supposed to get off work at 2PM. She came in and talked with us at 1PM and told us she was doing everything she could for us to get our case settled. At 2PM we figured she had gone home and passed it on to the next person.

But at 2:15 she came in and said she got it all arranged!!!!!!!! She had stayed late to ensure we got to go home yesterday! We offered her gifts and cried with happiness! She didn’t take any of our gifts, and then had to rush to pick up her son as she was running late.

Still, even though everything was settled, we had to wait on equipment to arrive, discharge papers to be signed, questions to be answered, etc. So we didn’t end up leaving the hospital until 4:15PM.

When we got home, which unfortunately took like half an hour because of work traffic, Brad’s parents were there. They had brought us lunch earlier in the hospital because I told them Tamara was not eating well. And they had prepared a casserole, green beans, and gluten free bread for dinner. They were so nice to do this and ensure Tamara got some good nutrition!

Sabrina went to pick up Tamara’s prescription, and she and Russ were able to join us for dinner, too! I’m sure it was a lot for Tamara to come home from the hospital and be surrounded by people. But I think everyone was just SO happy that they wanted to celebrate her for a little while.

After eating, everyone left and we were able to get comfy and relax. It was great!

Unfortunately all that adrenaline from the past 6 days, plus eating food for dinner instead of my usual smoothie for dinner left me feeling weak, shaky, and dizzy again just like Tamara’s first night in the hospital. So I went to bed at 8PM and left Brad and Tamara talking on the couch. I think I remember Brad coming to bed at like 11PM or something!

I slept through until 6AM, which is quite a lot of sleep for me! 10 hours! I’m making up for all the sleep I lost when Tamara was in the hospital!

I can’t wait for today when we can sit around on the couch all day and just relax and enjoy being all together! It will be great! I plan to do nothing, except maybe walk to the pharmacy with Felix and pick up a prescription sometime this afternoon. The pharmacy is like a 5 minute walk away.

And Brad will be starting one of his new meds today, which is great! Can’t wait!
