NAMI dealings and nauseous feelings 4

Today was the NAMI South Carolina conference in Columbia.  Even though I was feeling nauseous from re-starting the Vraylar, I was excited to go.

As I left the house, I grabbed a sweater.  At least, I thought I did.  When we were in the car I couldn’t find it anymore.  I looked all over the van!  During the first session we attended, Brad said to me “Oh you found your sweater!”, and I was like “huh?”.  Turns out I had draped my sweater over shoulder and had totally forgotten it was there!  Too funny!

The drive down went well, until we got to the parking garage.  There were only 2 accessible spots on each level of the parking garage.  And they were all taken.  We had to go up to the 6th floor to find an accessible spot!

We had a fun time attending talks and talking with our NAMI friends from all over the state.  My friend Laura was also wearing yellow!  And we had a great time together.  We met at the retreat in April, and it was so much fun hanging out together again.

Lunch was awesome, and it tasted so good that I ate all of it despite my nausea.  Big mistake.  I stayed extra nauseous the rest of the time there, on the way home, and now at home.  But at least no dizziness or lightheadedness from the Vraylar yet.

After lunch, we watched a movie featuring one of the NAMI SC board members. It was a great movie, and even starred someone with a service dog!

We are now happy to be home, and I am still feeling nauseous.  If the Vraylar didn’t help me so much those first two weeks I was on it, I wouldn’t have given it a second chance.  But it really was working well, so I am willing to try to stick it out through the side effects. I’ll be taking it every other day to see whether halving the dose is good overall.

Brad got some pictures of Hestia and me watching presentations!  He also got some good ones of Laura and me at lunch and outside while Hestia was taking a potty break.  The funniest picture is of Hestia underneath my black napkin.  She looks like a Jedi or something wearing a hooded cloak.  It is too cute!

Here are all the pictures Brad took:
