Gastric study, gastric filling, and Sam’s   Recently updated!

What a long day! This morning, Tam and I had to be at the hospital at 7:30AM for my gastric emptying study. This is being done to see if food stays in my stomach too long and might be what is causing my nausea. It is a 4 hour test. I did not bring Felix because he would not have had fun sitting around for 4 hours waiting on me. So Tam was my service human.

At 8AM they fed me radioactive eggs, sausage, and biscuit. Then they spent the next half hour taking a series of xrays of my stomach. Since the food was radioactive, the food will show up on the xray. After that, they took xrays at 9, 10, 11, and noon. Luckily they allowed me to sit with Tam in the waiting room between xrays, so we talked and played on our phones.

After the test, we were hungry, so we went home to pick up Brad. We had to fill up the tires on the car, as they got low again with the cold weather. Then we headed to McAlister’s for lunch! That is one of my favorite restaurants! I got my usual jalapeño turkey crunch sandwich. Yum! The weather was nice enough for us to enjoy the patio!

Finally, we headed to Sam’s to pick up a few things. We had a great time in Sam’s! As soon as we walked in, I saw the most BEAUTIFUL xmas decorations. They were prism themed deer, snowman, sleigh, and snowflake. They were gorgeous! We have nowhere to put them here, so we couldn’t get them, even though they were on clearance. I loved them so much I considered putting them in my bedroom! But alas, the best I could do was get a picture with them. In the picture, I’m in my wheelchair with Felix on my lap. I’m wearing Japanese Chin leggings, a black shirt, and a pink sweatshirt.

In one of the aisles, Tam and I got some fun selfies! In them Felix is just looking all chill. I am smiling, and Tam is waving, making a surprised face, and laughing! She is wearing a maroon plaid shirt.

We had a great time going through the store together! We didn’t get too much stuff, since we’d been there recently. Felix was not at all happy in the cold rooms! But we made it through just fine.

After we checked out, we stopped in the vestibule and got some fun pictures of Brad and Tam, and of Tam and me. Brad is wearing a grey jacket and a red hat, with a red pin on his jacket. Tam is hiding behind our wheelchairs in both pictures. Above Tam and my heads, it says “expect something special”.

Tam and I were gone nearly all day what with the test in the morning! Brad got pretty tired from the outing, too. But now we are safe and sound at home, relaxing for the rest of the day!
