On Monday, we went to Tam and her mom’s favorite restaurant to celebrate Tam’s birthday. It was bittersweet and we wanted to keep it small because we wanted to commemorate Tam’s mom’s birthday lunch there a month before her passing. So it was jointly a celebration and remembrance.
We had a fantastic time together. Brad and I wore matching peacock (blue and green) sequin outfits, and Tam wore black (you may sense a theme here with Tam’s clothing lol). The restaurant was wonderful, and they took such good care of us. They all really enjoyed Brad’s and my clothing, and enjoyed hearing about Tam’s mom.
Brad took pictures of us all, of all our food, and of some of the ambiance of the restaurant. We sat outside, and it was perfect weather. Felix wasn’t so great, he kept trying to get up and move around. But he wasn’t disruptive either, so it was OK.
I gave Tam her birthday gift from me, which was a set of three small resin mice to represent the three of us as a new family unit. Brad will give her his present on her actual birthday.
Below are all the pictures Brad took. The pictures of the Happy Birthday dessert (cheesecake with strawberries and a happy birthday sign) were especially important as they matched the pictures of Tam’s mom at her birthday in January.
I also got a dessert– a brownie with ice cream and the best caramel sauce ever. I even had to ask for extra it was so yummy. Brad got some pictures of the caramel dripping off the brownie and ice cream.
We look forward to many more restaurant outings with Tam!
