Yesterday Brad and I did a photo shoot! Unfortunately the shoot took so long that I missed agility class 🙁 But it was really important for Brad to get the photo shoot done as it is an idea he’s had for a long while and hasn’t had time to put into action.
I have to be honest that I don’t really get the artistic direction of the photographs, but he says they’re about greed and corruption. We’re both dressed in green and gold, with a gold backdrop. Brad has black cracking lines dripping with green around his eyes and mouth, and I have green eyeshadow and lipstick on. We also have green lighting up the backdrop.
For the first part of the photo shoot, we tried looking greedy together, mysterious, and evilly happy. Unfortunately I got the laughies, and this messed up several photos while I laughed until I cried. Brad just doesn’t know what to do with me—I’m not a very good model!
Then we got out some fake money and burned it while laughing. It was hard to set fire to it, but we managed to do it and not set off the smoke detectors in the house, which was a great thing.
I also put on some sunglasses with money symbols on them.
Next we got the dogs involved. First just the girls, Alice and Hestia. They are the most amenable to photo shoots. We got some really good pictures, especially of Alice who was looking into the camera a lot. Then we got Felix in the mix, and it was hard to get a picture with all three dogs looking in the same direction.
In one picture I try to eat Hestia’s head. Or at least I look like it. We also did some silly pictures where we made funny faces.
Next we put the dogs down and went back to burning money. We had taken a break so that the smoke could clear a bit. This time we were able to get better shots!
Then we switched to taking pictures of us coveting money in a golden shoe (Brad’s gold shoe with gold spikes).
When we were done with human pictures, we set up the table for dog pictures. Normally Felix is too afraid of heights to be up on the table, but I’ve been working with him on his fear of heights and he’s been doing well, so we tried it. He still wasn’t entirely comfortable, but he was taking treats and able to look around and move a bit, so it was overall good.
The table is covered in gold and fake money, and the three dogs take turns standing and sitting while looking at the camera (or rather looking at me for more treats LOL!).
Overall it was great to get back to doing photo shoots. And we have a pretty un-busy few months coming up, so hopefully we can get a few more photo shoots in!
