After the livestock, we met up with Sabrina and Faith in the quilt and craft section. There were lots of really great crafts to look at, and we really enjoyed it! The pictures show us (four wheelchairs and two service dogs, with two walking people) walking around, looking at the crafts.
Brad’s aunt and cousin switched places in the wheelchair for a bit, and it was a bit of a disaster going through doorways and over thresholds! But they made it!
Next we headed towards the circus! They have a free circus there a few times a day. We had fun waking past the rides and through the crowds. And Faith got the biggest bag of cotton candy!!!!! She had fun modeling with it!
We were the first people to arrive at the circus waiting line. Since we were there on “exceptional citizens day” which gives free entry to disabled people, and since wheelchair seating space is limited, we wanted to be sure we got spots. So we were first in line!
Unfortunately it was really sunny out, and Felix was getting hot, so Sabrina and I had to hold my blanket over him to shade him from the sun.
We finally got inside, and it was SO LOUD. They had music blaring, and so I got out Felix’s orange hearing protection. It was still SO LOUD. I was nearly crying with just the music they had before the circus started. Then a clown got on the speaker to do something to rile up the crowd and Felix flinched (as did I!). I was talking (shouting) with Brad about leaving, when the circus started. It was even louder than before. Sabrina wisely said it was too loud for Indy, so I followed her out and we hung out outside while the rest of the group watched the circus.
We told the others to stay and enjoy the circus. In the meantime, Sabrina and I had a great time talking, but it was still so loud even outside the circus tent! Lots of families with babies came out because it was too loud, too.
My next state fair blog entry will be the last one. So stay tuned! Also, follow @disableddoublet on Instagram if you want to see Brad publishing his really cool circus pictures over the next few months!
