Today I had a lot of errands to do to prepare for the upcoming convention. In the morning, I went to get my hair cut. This was Felix’s third or fourth time with me getting my haircut. He did so well!
Previously when I had gotten my hair cut, he was pretty insistent on having his head outside of the cape (he stays on my lap). But this time he was totally chill with the cape draped over him! He stayed that way for almost the entire hair cut! I was very proud of him, and so my hair stylist Holly took a picture. You can see the Felix-shaped lump underneath the black hairdressing cape LOL!
I came home to eat lunch, but had to go back out later in the day for two more things.
I am participating in market research for Publix where they are giving me a gift card to try a new type of potato chip. So I had to run to Publix to buy them. I put Felix on my lap so I could hold a basket. I found the salsa first (Brad’s favorite salsa is not sold where we normally shop), then the chips. I got the very last bag of the chips I was supposed to get!!!
Then I needed La Croix as it was on sale. I need to get more of it than usual because my neurologist told me I needed to drink more water to help my headaches, and having flavored water helps me increase my intake. Only I couldn’t carry it on my wheelchair! So I had to get an employee to help. He was very nice, and has helped me before.
After Publix, I headed to a Starbucks that I’ve never been to before. Felix takes his PAT next Saturday, so this is probably one of my last chances to practice his restaurant behaviors. And I had Starbucks stars expiring at the end of the month that I needed to use for a free coffee! So it was a win win!
Felix did a great job going into Starbucks. We had to wait for probably 5–10 minutes for my coffee to be ready, since they were pretty slammed with the drive-through. Felix did OK while we were waiting. There were some small pieces of plastic on the floor that he really wanted to bat around like a cat. So I had to give him a few leave its.
Then I got my coffee and he heeled perfectly over to a table. I put his mat down and he got right on it and was perfect!!!! He lay there without moving almost the whole time we were there. I got some pictures of him lying on his rainbow mat. He did sit up and look at me once, so I got a picture of him doing that, looking cute.
I stayed for about 30 minutes after I got my coffee, just sipping it and texting friends. I stayed until Felix stood up and started acting like he might be getting antsy. I figured better to leave before he actually got antsy!
It was a good training day, and the whole thing didn’t involve any treats! Go Felix! I think he’s ready for his PAT!
