When I lived in Lompoc, California, my friend Chanda would often drive me to my psychiatrist appointments in Santa Barbara as she had therapy nearby. After our appointments, we stopped at a smoothie shop and I would order a King Kong smoothie which is a peanut butter, chocolate, and banana smoothie. It was my favorite and I’ve aways wanted to get it again.
Well now I have recreated it! It is super yummy and fairly healthy, too—no ice cream! My version is different from most other versions out there as mine is really really thick. Here are the ingredients, you just blend them up and then enjoy!
1 frozen banana, cut in slices
7-8 ice cubes (a little less than a cup)
1 heaping tablespoon cocoa powder
2 heaping tablespoons peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup milk
Here is a picture of my smoothie, it is in a quart mason jar with a blue silicone straw! This is an excellent remedy for a hard day.
Even the smell of bananas makes me sick to my stomach. Ick.
