Snowmageddon 2026   Recently updated!

Today our area had the most snow it’s seen in 22 years! When I woke up this morning around 7, there was maybe a half inch on the ground. The snow has continued at a good pace all day long.

Felix has really enjoyed the snow! He likes running in it, digging in it, sniffing it, eating it, and walking around in it. Hestia detests the snow and thinks it is not worthy of peeing or pooping on. This requires a lot of chasing her around on my part, and occasional small tosses of her into less snowy areas to encourage her to potty there. Alice doesn’t really care one way or the other. I think she just thinks this is her life now, and she may as well adapt.

Over the course of the day, I have gotten several pictures and videos of the dogs in the snow and also inside looking out the windows. By the time it got dark this evening, we had at least 6 inches. We’re supposed to get about 2 more inches overnight. For South Carolina, where many winters we see no snow at all, this is a huge deal! We probably have three snowplows for all of Rock Hill or something like that. In the South, you don’t really plow the snow on the roads. Everyone pretty much just sits around and waits for it to melt! So we will be snowed in for a while.

Unfortunately when we stocked up before the storm, we didn’t get enough coffee creamer (this is a major catastrophe). So I expect on Tuesday or so, I will have to walk to the grocery store that’s about a 5 minute walk away to get some. But we have plenty of other supplies and have not lost power, so we are all good really. If worse comes to worst, I can put almond milk in my coffee.

Anyway, enjoy the below pictures and one video of the dogs and the snow.
