Nashville trip: Frist art museum   Recently updated!

Our last full day in Nashville, we went to the Frist art museum.

We started out meeting up in the parking lot, where my cousin Drew arrived on a scooter, and we had to go around back for the accessible entrance.

When we got there, it took a while to get checked in and figure out where the kids area was. Brad got a few shots of us getting to the kids section.

The top floor of the museum had a kids section which was perfect for the grandkids. We had a fun time doing the activities, too. They had a color wall where Tamara made a heart and I made a line of purple. And they had a glass wall we could draw on with dry erase markers, one of us on each side! They had a cool stop motion camera, too.

After a while, the three of us got tired of the kids section, and we really wanted to see their exhibit on Venice and the Ottoman Empire. So my cousin Drew and the three of us went to see that exhibit. It was really cool, with a lot of neat paintings and artifacts from a shipwreck. Brad got some black and white photos of Tamara making faces, which was pretty cool, too.

We met up with my parents in the gift shop, where my mom and I both found beautiful necklaces we wanted. Brad and Tamara found neat cups and shot glasses that looked like real camera lenses! My necklace is a beautiful blue beaded necklace that is absolutely stunning!

We went to lunch at the art museum afterwards, and I found out my sticker had migrated to my armpit instead of on my dress LOL!

After the art museum, we tried heading to a candy store about a 10 minute walk away. Unfortunately it was in the middle of downtown Nashville on Broadway and was very crowded and noisy. The group of us was huge, 15 people, and it was really hard to keep everyone together. So I was in the middle trying to keep the ahead group together with the behind group.

It was totally overwhelming, and there kept being party busses going by screaming and blaring music, and we kept passing bars playing live music. During one drum solo, Felix tried to jump off my lap he was so scared and I started crying. It was terrible.

Finally we got to the candy store, and I was so overwhelmed that I could only sit in the back of the store and try to focus. Luckily my parents wanted to go back to the hotel, so we left right away, without even buying anything. We wanted some caramel corn, but the line was too long and I just couldn’t be there any longer. My sister ended up buying it for us later on, she’s so sweet!

Brad got some pictures of the candy store and me being totally overwhelmed.

It was so good to get back to the hotel and relax after that mess. Everyone else wanted to go fishing, but that was too much for us and my parents.

So Brad, Tam, and I went out to dinner with just my parents. We went to this really amazing Italian restaurant called Luogo. It had the BEST food I’ve ever had! I had some pasta with white wine sauce and used some amazing focaccia bread to soak up the sauce. Then we had dessert and the most giant banana pudding was put in front of me! I couldn’t even finish it, and had to take the rest home! Here is a picture the server took of us.

The only not perfect thing about the dinner was that occasionally party busses would come by and be really noisy. But otherwise it was perfect!

That was our last night in Nashville, and we had a rough night that night with my mom, but in the morning we all got to say goodbye which was good. We took two days to drive back to Rock Hill, and it was good because it was rainy all the way and lots of scary driving. But Tam and I got through the driving pretty well.

Overall it was a good trip, but I think it will be the last time my mom travels. Which is bittersweet. But I’m glad we got to spend the time with her and my family in Nashville that we did.
