Today I had to get two fillings. It was Hestia’s second time at the dentist with me, but her first time hearing the drill. I was pretty worried about that and about if I’d be able to drive afterward, so Brad came with me and waited in the waiting room even though he was feeling really bad.
Hestia was a rockstar! She lay down on my stomach and was the perfect weight of warm fluff to keep me grounded. I entwined her hair in my fingers and was able to focus on that, too, to keep me calm.
Hestia hardly even moved during the 2 hrs we were there! She was fantastic and everyone at Dr. Park’s office commented on it. They even said she was their best behaved patient he he he!
Dr. Park was awesome. His assistant Amber was there to help, too, and the woman with whom I spent so much time last time (Ellen) came in to check on me a few times. I had to get two cavities filled, and Dr. Park was so patient and gentle with me. He and Amber explained things to me before and as they were doing them, and during the time to get the shots, Amber patted my shoulder in time to the music (California dreaming).
One of my cavities turned out to be a lot deeper than expected, but Dr. Park didn’t act rushed or anything even though I know it was taking longer than he expected. He was very slow and gentle, it was great!
So if you want a good time with your cavities being filled, call Dr. Park!
So glad it went well. It seems like the anticipation of things are worse than the things, but that knowledge really doesn’t much.
Yes, for some reason I was anticipating I would be loopy from the novocaine, so I made Brad drive me. I could have driven myself, but I just was too nervous in anticipating it all.
