Those darn umbrellas! 2

Today was a busy day!  We started off with a trip to Bagel Boat with our NAMI friends.  It was a lot of fun to hang around and talk.  And they got a new couch in our favorite room to hang out in!

After Bagel Boat, we for some reason planned a bunch of errands.  At the time we were planning them, they each seemed really short and easy, so it wouldn’t be too hard to do them all……

First we went to the library where a book Brad had requested was waiting for him.  There was an umbrella by the door in the library and Hestia was really afraid of it.  I tried to do some desensitization training with her about it, but it was hard because we were blocking the entrance and there was a small crowd gathering watching us.  So we just moved on.

Next we went to CVS.  I really try to support local independent pharmacies, but mine isn’t able to get one of my meds anymore, so I had to switch over to a new pharmacy.

We had a lot of waiting to do when we arrived at CVS because they were having trouble getting my prescriptions from my former pharmacy, and were trying to link me up to my CVS.com account (which still didn’t work).  Anyway, Hestia got spooked by another umbrella in CVS!  I was really surprised!  Maybe she is starting a fear stage at 3 years old?  Anyway, while we were waiting I did some training with Hestia in the store, and she did a pretty good job with everything except umbrellas.  Brad got a few pictures of us training.

Then for our last errand, we had a “quick” stop in to Earth Fare, our local grocery store.  We needed like 3 things, but of course once we got in there, we looked around and got more stuff.  Hestia did about a B+ job in Earth Fare, but as we were waiting to check out, she started doing the potty dance.  Luckily I was able to leave the groceries with Brad while I took Hestia out to potty!

When we got home, my brain was so mush.  I keep thinking we can do things like normal people, you know, run errands and stuff.  But I forget that Brad and I have a limited number of spoons, and we cannot do a whole bunch of stuff in one day.  Luckily I was able to take a nap while Brad was watching the UNC game on TV.  That helped a bit.

Also, we’re a bit worried about Ollie.  This morning when I woke up he was tucking his tail and had to be encouraged to eat.  All day he’s been kinda moping around the house.  He doesn’t appear to be in any discomfort specifically, he’s just acting like he doesn’t feel well.  If this continues tomorrow, we’ll be going to the vet on Monday for sure.  Poor Ollie man!

Enjoy the pictures!

Tao’s not a giant fan of umbrellas…we never use them, so he never understands why that human has that big weird hat thing happening. I know I had a hard time learning about the limited spoons/errandy type things. Having had to pay for it one too many times finally forced the understanding and the new practicing of limits, plus Tao herds me when he thinks I can’t count my own spoons! 😛
Hope the Ollie man is better today…mine were both weird yesterday with Storm Nate approaching. *sneaks him a few banana chips
