Yesterday morning when Brad and Tam woke up, we talked about what to do that day. We had wanted to place a Walmart order, but they were out of almost everything we wanted to order! So instead we decided to go to Sam’s Club. And we decided to stop at Chipotle on the way there because I had a BOGO coupon.
Unfortunately, I woke up in a bad mood yesterday. I was just annoyed with everything! I tried really hard not to let it show through to those I cared about (or anyone else), but I just felt super upset and annoyed with every little thing. Still, I figured it might do me some good to get out of the house.
I really really wanted to be a normal person yesterday and not disabled. I toyed for a long time with the idea of going without my wheelchair or my service dog. But my ankle is still sore (and might need surgery depending on if it ever stops being sore), and Felix really wanted to come. In the end, I was glad I had both my wheelchair and Felix with me!
We went to Chipotle first. I managed to get a less calorie dense bowl than usual, so I wasn’t stuffed completely full by the time I was done eating. It was super yummy! I love places like Chipotle and Moe’s and Salsaritas. All three offer a Subway-style experience of choosing your own toppings, but with Mexican food like burritos or burrito bowls. Plus it is great because Mexican food is one of the few types of food that Brad can easily find yummy things to eat.
I had Felix on my wheelchair seat next to the table as I ate, and he was happy to chill there. After I was done eating, I scooted back from the table and put him in my lap. Tam was still eating when I got the idea to take a selfie, and I didn’t realize she had food in her mouth until I was done taking it! So enjoy LOL! No, Tam looks great as usual in the picture, but I can tell she is chewing while smiling!
I felt slightly better after eating, and we headed on to Sam’s. We spent a LONG time there, going up and down almost every single aisle. I am so glad I brought my wheelchair!!!! Felix was not at all interested in being on the floor, so he was a lap dog the whole time. And honestly, that’s how both of us prefer it. There’s nothing wrong with working a small dog from your lap, arms, sling, or whatever device you need so long as they’re well behaved and comfortable. I took a video which will be posted later today about this while there.
We got a picture of me and Felix in the jelly aisle at Sam’s. I am wearing a grey shirt and light turquoise unicorn guinea pig leggings. I am in my Jazzy Ultra Light with purple butterfly bags. Felix is a sable and white Japanese Chin wearing a turquoise vest.
Sam’s had almost everything we needed on our list! But boy did we spend a lot of money there! Luckily we don’t go very often, and can stock up on things that will last us months. For example, I am trying to cut down on calories of my desserts. Almost all our Christmas snacks are gone, and I wanted a little something sweet I could eat for desserts that wouldn’t break the calorie bank. I found a giant pack of single serve puddings that are only 100 calories each! I love pudding, so it is a perfect thing for me to have on hand as a more healthy dessert item.
After we shopped, we stopped and got some ice cream at the front of the store. It was SO GOOD! I meant to take pictures of us with our treats, but they looked so tasty that the next time I remembered to take a photo was after we were done! Oh well, no ice cream photos for you.
When we were loading up the trunk at the store, a car nearly backed into us twice! It was super scary! We were SO COLD and were rushing around to get everything in the trunk, and somewhere in there, Tam must’ve lost a ring of her mom’s. Luckily it was not a favorite ring, but it was still a blow.
We got home and got unloaded as quickly as possible since we were all going numb in our hands being in the cold! And somehow we were able to fit everything in the fridge with a little room to spare, everything except one package in the indoor freezer, and everything else in the pantry areas! I don’t know how we had room for all that food! But we did!
By the end of the outing, I was feeling much better and not annoyed at all. Spending the day with those I love will do that to you. They were so kind to me and accepting of my bad mood, and just being out and about with them and Felix really helped me change my perspective. So I ended the day in much better shape than I started it. Thanks guys!
Enjoy three pictures below of the three of us at Chipotle, Felix and me at Chipotle, and Felix and me in the jelly aisle at Sam’s Club. The brown hair dye is washing out of my hair pretty quickly, so the parts that were bleached are now almost a very dark blonde.
