Today we had to go to the eye doctor, and just before we left, I got some answers about my nausea.
We were getting ready to go when all my test results came in. All the blood work came back perfect. But my ultrasound showed a liver hemangioma. That’s a non-cancerous tumor made up of blood vessels. One of the main side effects is nausea. It doesn’t explain the weak and shaky feeling I’ve been having, but maybe I’m getting weak and shaky from the nausea?
There are three basic treatments that might happen. First, we might watch it and see if it grows or shrinks. Second, we might have them go in with a balloon through my veins and blow up the balloon to block the blood supply to the hemangioma. Third, I might have surgery to remove the hemangioma.
The doctor wants me to get my endoscopy and colonoscopy to make sure there’s nothing else going on. And then at my scheduled follow up from those, we will discuss treatment options for the liver hemangioma. So I won’t know until late November what the next steps are.
In addition to the test results, pretty soon before we left, we got a package. Brad and Tam had ordered my dream wheelchair backpack and side bag! Previously Brad had said we didn’t have the money for those items right now, so I was very surprised! Apparently they even ordered them before I knew I had lost my cup holder! So that’s why they weren’t as upset as I was about losing the cup holder.
The backpack and side bag are purple with butterflies. The backpack has two mesh things on the sides to hold water bottles or umbrellas or similar things. And the side pouch has a cup holder built into it! So now I’m all good for cup holding! I quickly got them attached to my wheelchair, filled with my stuff, and we headed out the door.
Tamara had seen the eye doctor a few weeks ago and ordered two pairs of glasses. So we picked those up as they were all done. Today Brad had his eye appointment to get his new prescription and picked out two new pairs of glasses. He found a pair that is black and has an interesting shape that kind of turns up at the corners. And another pair that is black from the front and pink on the sides that is a more traditional shape. He looks great in both of them (and Tamara is so proud of him for choosing her favorite color, black!).
We got pictures of me in my wheelchair with my new bag and side pouch, with Felix hanging out next to me (it was his first time walking with my new wheelchair and he did pretty well, though stayed further away than I would have liked). I am wearing a pink dress and have light purple hair.
We also got pictures of Tam’s new glasses, one purple and one burgundy. And pictures of Brad’s frames that he picked out. I hope you enjoy them all!

Everyone looks like they’re having a good day. So nice to see.
