Do-re-mi-sofa

Today we went shopping for a new sofa. Our sofa has had springs popping out of it for the past six months, and the other day one of the two supports on my leg rest broke. I was willing to deal with springs until the end of the pandemic, but I really do need a footrest!

We were able to schedule an appointment before Haverty’s opened this morning since Brad is so high risk. We really appreciated being able to do that!

We had a very nice salesperson, Jackie. She showed us several couches and we found one that would work for us. It was a little more than we wanted to spend, but most importantly Brad can comfortably lie on his sides on it. This is very important for his pressure sores.

We took some pictures and will compare it to the sofas we see at Tyndall’s on Tuesday (another before-hours appointment) and then maybe make a purchase during Labor Day weekend over the phone to whichever place has the best option.

Hestia was fairly good during our visit. She did pull a little, but when I reminded her I had treats she was all eyes on me!

In the pictures below, I am a woman with long brown curly hair wearing a light purple dress. I have a galaxy mask on. Hestia is a small white and black dog with a smushed nose and googley eyes wearing a galaxy vest. The couch is an elephant grey color, and looks like a typical couch with recliners at each end.

Veronica sits on the couch with the legrest out and partially reclined, how she would recline in the sofa. Hestia sits on her lap.

Veronica reclines allllll the way back (which is far!).

A view from the side. You can see the headrest is up at it's highest point, while the seat is reclined all the way.

Hestia lying on Veronica's lap. You can see her ear hair is a little oily from putting her head in the empty coconut oil jar Brad held for her the night before!
