A selfie of me, Dan and CJ. Dan and CJ have beards and DJ is wearing a hat. I am out of focus and have hair in my face LOL! That's the kind of picture you get without a Brad there to make everything look good!

Today I went swimming with CJ, and then out to lunch and hangout time with CJ and Dan.  I was not really in the mood to swim, but I know it is healthy for me.  When I showed up at CJ’s house, he didn’t feel like swimming either.  But CJ said he wanted for me to swim because he knew it was good for me.  And I felt the same way for him!  So we went swimming for each others’ self-care routines.

I was really tired and could only do 4.5 laps of swimming and no water aerobics.  And I was swimming super slowly, too.  CJ beat me to the wall every time which is not usually the case!  My muscles were just feeling so tired.  But we exercised, and that is all that matters.

After swimming we picked up Dan and went to Firehouse Subs.  I had never been there before!  They had an awesome gluten and sugar free salad.  It was really tasty.  And all the veggies were cut in little cubes.  It was good!

Then we stopped by Aldi’s as we each had to get a little something there.  I got yogurt and peanut butter– this way we don’t have to go to the store tomorrow after my psychiatrist appointment.  Then we went to Dunkin’.  We got coffee/hot chocolate, and Dan had a donut!  This was my favorite of our time together today.  We just sat and talked about stuff.  Mostly mental illness stuff.

We all shared some deep stories about some of the worst times with our illnesses.  I got to know CJ and Dan at a new level, and they me.  This led me to share my “worst days” of my life (as seen in my last blog post).  And what my psychosis usually manifests as.

I am so lucky to have in person friends here that I relate so well with.  And with CJ it’s extra cool because since we are both scientists, we both have the same approach to looking at things.

All too soon, though, it was time to go home so we didn’t get stuck in awful traffic.
