This morning I picked up my good friend CJ and we went to a walk that benefitted NAMI.  The walk started at 7:30 AM, so we didn’t actually go to the walk part!  Instead we arrived closer to 9:30 as things were winding down.  We mainly wanted to go to see the “cube” they had erected about mental health.

One side of the cube was painted black and people were writing on it things about mental illness with paint markers.  The next side displayed a few of the heads people made a few weeks ago.  The third side was full of magnets.  I got one that says “You wouldn’t say ‘It’s just cancer, get over it'”.  It is very cool, and is currently on our fridge!  The last side of the cube (I guess it’s not really a cube as it didn’t have a top or bottom) had informational things about NAMI.

After the walk, we went over to CJ’s house.  Or shall I say I barged into CJ’s house and made a bee-line straight towards his new guinea pigs, completely ignoring CJ, Hestia, and anything else around.  Yes, I do love guinea pigs he he he!

They have three guinea pigs named Mariah, Madonna, and Diana.  I really liked both Mariah and Diana, and I think Madonna will come out of her shell with time.  Mariah talked to me the most, and Diana was most into the petting and cuddling.  We even got to feed them carrots!  It was awesome.

Hestia didn’t know what to do about the guinea pigs.  At first she was a little afraid of them (they are almost as big as she is!), but then she was just really interested in them.  Not in a bad way, but it was scaring the guineas a bit.  So I had CJ hold Hestia while I held the guinea pigs.  Hestia didn’t like that, but I did!  Did I mention how much I LOVE guinea pigs?!

Then we headed to Bagel Boat for our weekly social meeting.  Tommy was very excited to hear about the guinea pigs and Hestia interacting!  We had a great time at bagel day, talking with our friends.  I didn’t get any pictures of bagel day, though.
