Conservatory with a service dog trio 4

On Sunday we went to the Conservatory with our friends Jenine and Kent.  I LOVE plants, and it was really cool to see the plants through Jenine’s senses.  Touching the plants, feeling how broad the leaves are, how fuzzy the flowers are, how thick the tropical plants are, and how small the bonsai are was a very cool experience.

Miss Hestia (her Empress) had SUCH a good time with the big guides.  Well, they were only big to her.  They are normal Golden Retriever size.  Her favorite thing was to walk behind Linus (the lighter colored Golden) so that his tail swished over her body.  Too bad we never got a clear picture of that!

The Conservatory also had a glass blowing factory on site, so there were many glass sculptures hidden among the plants.  It was great!

Then we went to Jenine and Kent’s house for a bit to hang out, which was really fun, and then we went out to eat at a diner that they like.  I had pie!  It was SO yum– Buckeye pie is so traditionally Ohioan that I just had to order it!

When we came back from dinner, Jenine took me on a tour of the house while Kent regaled Brad with stories.  It was very cool to see all the neat things they have collected over the years.  Lots of crystals and stones!

We were exhausted by the end of the day, but somehow we made it back to the hotel and crashed.

Unfortunately on Monday I was sick the whole day.  The good thing was that it was our rest day before the big drive home, so I didn’t miss anything.  The bad news is that I spent too much time in the bathroom LOL!  At least we were in a nice clean hotel with cable, though!

Tuesday we drove home.  Brad drove through the mountains (2 hrs) and I drove the rest of the way.  Poor Brad was really having a hard time by the end of the mountains.  He was having lots of spasms and pain, a LOT of spams, but he knew I was still sick and wanted to get us through the mountains.  It was an uneventful drive, only trafficky in Charlotte.

Here is a link to all the pictures, plus my favs below with captions 🙂

This is the pool of goldfish. They are all looking for something to eat, and there is one right in the center that is being pushed out of the water by the others, and he has his mouth wide open!

A rare picture of Brad! This time he is in a reflection on a giant silver ornament.

Here are some purple orchids that caught Brad's eye. If you look closely, it looks like the inside of each orchid is a mouth, with slightly bumpy teeth!

This is probably my favorite picture of the bunch. Jenine is smiling while exploring some birds of paradise with her hands. Kent is standing on in the background.
