Today I had to go to the dentist to get my permanent crown put on. Hestia is normally a solid pro at the dentist, but today she totally forgot what happens at the dentist!
When they put my chair back to take off the temporary crown, Hestia kept trying to sniff the technician! I had to use hand signals to stop her each time.
Then whenever the technician would move the light, Hestia would stare at it and kind of look scared of it like she had never seen a light like that before!
She put her head up when there were sounds like the air gun, too!
And the first time I had to get an X-ray, she wriggled around under the lead cape like she’d never had one draped over her before.
I was very embarrassed and apologized for her! Luckily the dentist and his technician were both very nice and understanding (and maybe even thought it was funny since Hestia is normally such a perfect dog!).
Eventually after about 10 or 15 minutes, Hestia settled down and was back to her normal professional self at the dentist.
Getting the crown on went well once Hestia remembered herself. As always I have fun with my dentist and the other people who work there. I told my dentist that I’m now making kombucha, and when I go in for my cleaning in August I’ll bring some in for him and his staff to try!
Pictures of Hestia at the dentist are below. She is a small white and black dog with a smushed nose and googley eyes wearing a purple and black galaxy themed vest.
