Eighteen years 7

Eighteen years ago today I married my best friend and the love of my life! It was the best decision I’ve ever made! We had a beautiful wedding full of friends and family. It was a very relaxed wedding, and boy did we have a good time. We got married at the Horace Williams house in Chapel Hill, NC. Horace Williams was the first philosophy professor at UNC, which is fitting because Brad studied philosophy as an undergrad and graduate student!

My favorite thing about the wedding (besides marrying Brad) was the brown sugar pound cake that we had for the wedding cake. It was sooooooo tasty! I loved it so much that Brad got me that same cake (though a small one) for our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd anniversaries.

My second favorite thing was the flowers. We had awesome flowers with Veronicas, Delphinium, stock (sweet pea), yellow and orange roses, and other more wild looking flowers. We had some of the flowers from my bouquet freeze dried and framed– they are hanging on our wall.

I took some pictures of some of the pictures in our wedding album, and thought I’d share them with y’all.

In the pictures Brad is a man (not in a wheelchair) with short blond hair and glasses wearing a black tux. I am a woman with very short curled brown hair and black oval glasses wearing a white satin dress. The dress didn’t have any adornments, just a fitted bodice and a flared skirt. I have a long but narrow set of six tulle strands that make up a veil that hangs from the back of my hair with a ceramic flowered comb and am wearing a strand of pearls that Brad’s grandmother hand knotted for me.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THESE PRECIOUS PHOTOS! I’ve downloaded and saved quite a few. You are absolutely glowing and it is obvious Brad is holding back a lot of emotion – to no avail – it is all quite obvious. How in the world did you cut that beautiful 3-tiered cake? With all the flowers flowing down it, I don’t see a way to sneak a knife in!

Brad looks so handsome in his tux! Your wedding dress is stunning in its simplicity and I love the way it is fitted on top then flows down in folds.

Brad & Veronica: Congratulations on your 18th Anniversary – and may you have many more than 18 to follow!
Love to you both, xxoo Deb

It was a beautiful wedding but what made it special was the two beautiful people that were beginning a new beautiful life together as Mr. and Mrs. Brad Morris.
They , unlike so many young people, were in love and they were committed to their vows. I thank God and am so proud of them and blessed to have the privilege of being their Nana!!
    Love you bunches!
