Getting caught up 3

Last week was pretty much a disaster for me.  It was a high pain week.  Normally on the pain weeks I cancel pretty much everything.  But we had a bunch of stuff planned that we couldn’t reschedule.  So I had to do things almost every day last week, with horrible pain.  Well, it wasn’t horrible pain– it got up to about a 7 out of 10 on the pain scale.

So this week I am making about me!  Yesterday I met up with my friend Jessica for a walk at Riverwalk.  It was beautiful, even a bit warm, and I was wearing a sleeveless dress!  We only walked an hour because Hestia kept trying to poop and nothing was coming out, and she was walking like she was holding her rear end funny.  Also, for no reason she’d just stop and refuse to go further for a few seconds.  So anyway, at the half hour mark, we turned back and headed home.  Luckily Hestia is fine today, and has pooped today no problem.

Jessica came back to our house, and we had fun hanging out talking for a while 🙂  We hadn’t seen her for months!   It was really good to hang out!  And since Rex wasn’t there, she got to meet Ollie for the first time!  Ollie felt like he was in heaven, he thought she was there just to see him.  We didn’t burst his bubble he he!

Today was swim with CJ, then lunch and hang out with CJ and Dan day!  Since we hadn’t been swimming for a couple weeks, we just did 5 laps of swimming and 1.5 laps of water aerobics.  It was a good amount, and I could feel my tired muscles afterward.  I accidentally started counting the number of strokes it took me to get to the other end of the pool, and started experimenting with my stroke form and power to see which ways made me go further faster.  Luckily CJ understands my scientist brain, so he didn’t think I was too weird.  Maybe just the right amount of weird!

Then we picked up Dan and went to Just Fresh.  I had a fruit smoothie and sweet potato fries, yum!  Then we went back to CJ’s house and watched Bad Santa.  It was a funny movie, but more fun than the movie was hearing Dan’s response to the movie, he kept laughing hysterically!  Oh and I got to hold guinea pigs!  Madonna, who usually doesn’t like me to hold her, was OK with me holding her today.  I haven’t picked her up for a while, she is a little fatso!  I love fat little guinea pigs!

I didn’t have Hestia with me for this, because she gets very concerned when I go in the water.  So Hestia and Brad had a fun day together.  While she won’t go in the bathroom if I’m in there (baths), when it’s just Brad at home, she peeks under the shower curtain and spends time staring at him while he’s in there.  Big google eyed stare!  And every time he gets in his chair, she comes over and asks to get on his lap and ride around with him.  Too funny!

When I got home, our amazon packages arrived with stuff we ordered from black Friday sales.  I intended to get just one dress, but I ended up with two.  One is teal with black polkadots, and the other is a green background with flamingos on it.  I also got a new coat.  Brad HATES my old coat, he thinks of it as my crazy person coat.  It is the coat that is made out of like 10 different wild fabrics.  I like it, but Brad always complains about it.  It was free, he wouldn’t have wanted me to buy it he he he!

Anyway, there was a red wool coat on sale for 50% off, so I got that, too.

And now it is the end of the day and I am exhausted!  Swimming, eating, watching a movie, and trying on new clothes wore me out!

Tomorrow I have a rest day, thank goodness.  I’m going to spend the rest of the week focusing on rebuilding my mental shock absorbers as much as possible.
