A family values party 2

Last night, we went to a protest!  I was having a high pain day, so I took the manual wheelchair.  We found that I could hang on to Brad’s armrest and he could pull me around– it was awesome, even though he tried to scare me on the way back to the van by going really fast he he he!

We saw our friend Kakhi at the protests, and she came over to hang out with us for a while during and after the protest.  We were one of the last to leave!  I was really happy to see Kakhi there, and we made some new friends, too 🙂

It was really hot out, but we found a spot in the shade with a little bit of a breeze to hang out.  We did get one heckler, who was really bad at heckling!  And I’m not just saying that!  Her ending insult to us before she drove off was “You are so dumb!”.  Oooooooh, you got us…..

We were sitting there and lots of people stopped to say hello to Hestia (who was off duty). This one couple came over because they have a Chin with similar markings, except red and white instead of black and white. So we had a nice little conversation, which ended up to getting around to that Hestia is my service dog.

So the lady proceeds to tell me about how she adopted a Pomeranian in California and on the same day was supposed to fly back to SC. But the dog was half an inch too tall to fly. So she faked her dog as a service dog, possibly at the airline’s prompting, so she could fly with her one-day pet across the country! Ugh!

I am too polite and didn’t know what to say, so I just nodded and smiled. They left right after that so I didn’t have a chance to work in not faking. Ugh!

Also, since I was in a wheelchair, too, we got some extra pity comments.  One lady came up to us and said how courageous we were to leave the house lol!

I’m really glad I brought the chair.  We were there 2 hours, and had I not brought the chair I probably would have had to go home after 30-45 min.

Here are the pics, enjoy!  My favorites are posted below, but the google album has more of the crowd, other signs, etc:
