A fruity date at the Farmers Market 4

Today Brad and I went on a date to the Farmers Market!  It has been really hot recently, so we left the house early at 7:30 AM!  Those who know our sleep schedules know this was highly irregular.  The Farmer’s Market opens at 8AM and we wanted to get there early.

We got there early and there were several accessible spaces open….  but none (even the taken ones) were van accessible with the hash marks next to them.  So we had to double park way in the back and set out cones.

The Farmers Market was SO much fun!  All these beautiful fruits and veggies, interesting people, great smells and tastes!  We had a great time!  We bought blueberries, cherries, plums, cheese, jam, tea, and of course peaches.  For Hestia we bought some raw food!  It is cheaper than we can buy in the store here, and made from locally raised and grown stuff.  We also saw Brad’s parents’ friends Bruce and Lynn, and someone from the Charlotte Dog Training Club!

I am having a high pain time now, so we stuck to fruit mostly because I didn’t think I’d be up for chopping up a bunch of veggies tonight.  Even though there were lots of people passing out samples of pastries, I was good and didn’t even try them!

Speaking of good, Hestia was pretty good, too!  At first she was a bit distracted, but she settled in.  By the second building (there are three open air warehouses) she was walking past floors littered with bits of fruits and veggies without any problem. Several people noticed her Harry Potter themed vest!  One woman said that her sister has a service dog and she had never seen patches as cool as ours, so we told her where she could get some for her sister 🙂

Brad took loads of pictures!  I will describe each picture in the caption, as there are way too many (like 22 or something!) for me to describe them in the text and have it make any sense he he!  Enjoy!

Some small plums, they are red and a little bigger than the cherries. They were very soft, so we have to eat these first!

Some sort of spiney cucumber type thing. I have no idea what it is, but it is green and has lots of spines and bumps all over it. It is roughly cucumber in overall shape.

On our way out, the tea man offered me more tea! So of course I got a second sample!
