Riverwalk with Jessica and Rex 1

Today all three of us went for a walk with Jessica and her Border Collie Rex.  Brad was actually able to come, which is AWESOME!  He hadn’t been to Riverwalk in months and months– before they got the parking lot put in!

It was a beautiful day outside…  in the shade.  Unfortunately due to our preference for sleeping in, and our unawareness that we skipped spring and went straight to summer, it was not that great for walking in.  It was about 83!

We still managed to have fun!  We talked a lot, sat on a bench some, and Hestia got a little overheated so I had to carry her about half the way.  She’s so funny, when she gets tired she just plops down (she almost makes a plopping noise it is so plopping)  and refuses to move out of the shade in the grass.  In one of the pictures you can see that she is at the end of the leash from me, with me sitting down and her a few feet away in the grass.  She much prefers the grass than the sand that was around the bench!

Brad got some awesome pictures– not really of the humans, but of nature!  He was really taking lots of pictures!  Here is a link to all the pics, and I’ll put a few favorites at the bottom of the post.

My favorite picture of the bunch. Picture shows a light rapids area on the river, punctuated with off white stones. There is a bit of greenery on the left side of the picture.

Veronica in a brown and blue dress and pink baseball cap sits on a bench with Jessica, who is wearing a turquoise shirt and blue capri pants. Res is a red and white border collie sitting next to Jessica. Hestia is a black and while small dog at the very end of the leash so that she can be on cushy grass and not sand.

A baby squirrel frozen in an upright position. Brad says the squirrel stood there for a very long time, but got scared and ran away when Brad moved.

The end of our walk, we are very tired! I am carrying Hestia who plopped down a while ago, and Jessica is walking Rex who appears to be having fun.
