American Sign Museum 2

The day after Thanksgiving we went to the American Sign Museum with some of my parents’ friends.  No, it’s not an ASL museum 🙂  It is a collection of old signs, from paper and porcelain to neon signs– even one uranium sign!

It was SUPER fun!  I love going to museums with my parents.  There were signs galore, taking up every inch of space at the museum!

One of my favorite signs is the one that shows a bullet hole in it, and of course we got a picture!

Turns out that the day after Thanksgiving is the busiest day of the year for the sign museum, so they had brought in a couple of vendors to sell food and drinks.  I got an iced coffee with kahlua in it, and then later on two “coneys” from Camp Washington Chili for lunch.

Coneys and chili in Cincinnati are quite unique.  It is a thin chili that is served either on top of a small hot dog, or on top of spaghetti.  You can get onions, cheese, and oyster crackers to go on top.  Yummmmmmm.

I think the best part of the sign museum was sitting around the table with my family and friends after eating lunch.  My dad, who HATES dogs, actually petted Hestia!  This is only the second time he has purposefully touched one of my service dogs.  I was explaining about grounding to the others at the table, and how I use her tail fur for that.  So my dad pet her tail a few times to see what it was like.

Then he went back to usual and tried to scare her (which we got a great picture of!) but she wasn’t phased.

After the museum we went home and decorated the Xmas tree for my niece, who is coming for Christmas.  Hestia tried to eat some of the ornaments LOL.  I put her in my rainbow pouch so that I could use both hands more easily to hang the things on the tree.  It turned out to be a beautiful tree!

We worked more on the puzzle, too.  That was a lot of fun!  But we were very tired, so again we zonked out when we got back to the hotel!

Here are some pictures Brad took, first the link to all the pics, and then the full size best pics of the bunch.
